Used without a backing block, the force from your fingertips transmits directly to the surface through the ultra-thin cloth, and the subtle movement of the cloth expels clogging. The abrasive surface stays sharp for a long time and the cutting effect lasts, so you can polish easily with little force over a long period, lasting several times longer than sandpaper. Even when it clogs, you can remove almost all of the cutting debris by lightly tapping the abrasive surface with a melamine sponge. It can also be used for wet sanding, like waterproof sandpaper. Being an ultra-thin cloth, it is easy to cut with a hobby knife, and as a plain weave cloth it can be torn freely both lengthwise and widthwise.
