Ultra-thin cutting blade, crafted by hand. As thin and sharp as a knife, the cutting blade is the heart of the tool. Each one is sharpened and polished individually by craftsmen in Tsubame-Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture, a region renowned for its cutlery.

Single-edged structure for clean cuts. The nipper uses a single-edged design: one side of the blade is the cutting edge, while the other acts as a flat "anvil" that the edge presses against. Because only one side does the cutting, it's called single-edged, and it's what gives each cut its clean, flat finish.
