High-precision carving tools that work with a pin vise!

These are small, precise flat carving tools made for use with pin vises and similar holders. The shaft is fully cylindrical, but the cutting edge is flat. You can carve with either side of the blade, though the best carving angle changes depending on which face is pointing up.

The set includes five tools ranging from 1mm to 3mm. All shafts are 3mm in diameter, so there's no need to change the pin vise's collet chuck when swapping tools.

Please handle with care when opening the lid and using the tool, as the blade is sharp.

How they differ from Spin Blades

Spin blades are also a type of flat blade, but the blade is mounted differently than on bit blades. A spin blade is thin and symmetrical, which makes it easy to rotate. The flat blade on a bit blade has one beveled side and one vertical side. Because it's asymmetrical, it isn't suited to rotating, but the beveled section is thicker, making it more durable than a spin blade. Cutting through plastic sheet, a spin blade leaves a cut like a double-edged knife, while a bit blade's flat blade leaves one like a single-edged knife.
