Since the arched (rounded) section carries no file marks, there's far less risk of scratching the opposite edge as you work. The arched surface is also narrower than the flat filing surface, so you can file right up to an edge without damaging the edge behind it. (Note: this applies to reverse-edge angles between 180° and 90°.)
An arched shape for greater strength and less flex
Because the file resists bending, none of the force from your hand is wasted. It transfers cleanly to the filing surface, letting you focus purely on the angle where the file meets the part without pressing harder than you need to, for a more precise finish.
A short grip that encourages a natural, light touch
The grip is deliberately short and slim, making it hard to bear down too hard. This reduces uneven filing and makes it much easier to achieve a truly flat surface.
Just 5mm wide, ideal for tight spaces
The slim 5mm width slips easily into narrow areas, making it perfect for detailed surface finishing.
A single-cut blade for a clean finish
The single-cut tip is precision-sharpened to leave a clean, smooth cut surface.
