Maintenance oil made specifically for nippers. Prevents surface rust and loose parts!
For anyone who wants their favorite nippers to last, this special maintenance oil set guards against rust when applied to the surface of the tool. This GodHand original blend combines rust prevention and lubrication in a single solution: it forms a strong protective film on the surface while lubricating the moving parts, reducing shaft wear and preventing looseness. Two cleaning cloths (Kimwipes) and a blade brush for clearing away cutting debris are included.
Set contents
- Maintenance oil (single-component type, 2 bottles). Category 4, Second Petroleum Class, Hazard Class III [Highly Flammable]. Brush-attached cap, glass bottle.
- Blade brush
- Paper wipes ("Kimtowels"), 2 sheets
- Oil dispenser stand (assembly required)
How to use nipper maintenance oil:
-
Remove debris. Use the blade brush to clear away cutting debris, ideally often while you work. Pay special attention to debris caught at the base of the blades, as it can warp the shaft and cause looseness. Looseness in turn reduces cutting performance and can chip the blade.
-
Protect the moving parts (maintenance oil). Because of how nippers are built, they're prone to loosening. Apply maintenance oil once a week to prevent this. Work plenty of oil into the moving parts, open and close the nippers a few times, then wipe them down with a cloth. Old oil may seep out from the shaft, so wipe that away too.
-
Oil the surface (maintenance oil). Apply the oil evenly across the entire nipper, then wipe off any excess with a cloth or towel. Always do this after use, and be especially thorough if you've handled the metal parts, including the blades, with bare hands.
-
Always wipe before use (Kimwipes). Because the oil is formulated to prioritize rust prevention, it doesn't dry easily and can transfer to whatever you cut. Wipe the surface thoroughly before using the nippers.
